XJTAG – Boundary Scan

Alfa Test is the XJTAG local partner for the Eastern Europe, providing solutions for boundary scan testing in both stand-alone and integration with other testing application such as functional test.

XJTAG is a leading supplier of IEEE Std. 1149.1 compliant boundary scan development tools. Its JTAG (Joint Test Action Group) development system offers a highly competitive solution for designers and developers of electronic circuits.

Utilizing XJTAG allows the circuit development and prototyping process to be shortened significantly by facilitating early test development, early design validation, fast development of functional tests and test re-use across circuits that use the same devices. XJTAG is based in Cambridge, UK, and is part of the Cambridge Technology Group.

XJTAG was the first boundary scan solution to offer a common platform for use by design and development engineers, test engineers, contract manufacturers and field test engineers, providing testing of not only JTAG-enabled devices but non-JTAG devices as well.

XJDeveloper

XJDeveloper is a graphical application that allows you to quickly and easily set up and run tests on your circuit. With XJDeveloper you can reduce your time to market by reusing your test scripts all the way through the product design process and then in manufacturing.

XJDeveloper’s built-in connection test, combined with XJEase tests for non-JTAG devices, checks your boards for short-circuit and open-circuit faults. Using XJDeveloper you can easily create or customize tests. The DFT analysis allows you to see your boards’ test coverage while the built-in netlist explorer provides a simple interface for you to view the connectivity between devices.

XJAnalyser


XJAnalyser is a powerful tool for real time circuit visualization and debugging. It provides a graphical view of JTAG chains, giving you complete control, on a pin-by-pin basis, of both pin state (either driven as an output or tristated as an input) and pin value (either high or low when driven), and it has the facility to run SVF and STAPL / JAM files.

XJInvestigator

XJInvestigator allows you to diagnose manufacturing problems on failing boards. Combining the test capabilities of XJRunner and XJAnalyser with additional diagnostic functionality, XJInvestigator is the boundary scan tool to use at your repair/rework station.

XJRunner

XJRunner is the specialized run-time environment for executing pre-compiled  XJDeveloper projects. With a range of special features it is particularly aimed at board manufacturers and in-field support. I one package, you have interconnect testing, in-system programming, non-JTAG device testing, serial number handling and configurable log files for your audit trail.

The Layout Viewer

The Layout Viewer allows you to quickly find the physical location of components, nets and pins on a board. It provides the capability to view layout design data extracted from ODB++ jobs in both XJDeveloper and XJRunner.

XJTAG Chain Debugger
The XJTAG Chain Debugger, installed with all XJTAG products, is a powerful tool designed to help you troubleshoot problems with your JTAG chain. You can tell the Chain Debugger to automatically try and identify the location of faults by exercising the devices in a JTAG chain. If further investigation is necessary you can use a range of built-in functions to help you track down the source of the problem. From debugging the JTAG chain on early prototype boards to resolving production line issues the tool can be used by engineers at all stages of the product life-cycle.

XJTAG Expert

XJTAG Expert
XJTAG Expert is the world’s first portable Boundary Scan test solution that comes with digital oscilloscope, waveform and function generator, spectrum analyser and serial protocols analyser. Its USB 2.0 to JTAG adapter provides a high speed interface to the JTAG chain while the advanced features make it easier to test, debug and repair a wide range of circuit boards. The portable design means the XJTAG Expert ADF-2 can easily be taken to the Unit Under Test.

XJQuad

XJQuad

XJQuad is a 4-port version of the XJLink2 USB-to-JTAG controller. It is supplied with XJRunner software for running XJDeveloper test systems. With a range of special features it is particularly suitable for manufacturers. Each of the four ports has a high-speed interface which can be connected to up to four TAPs on each Unit Under Test (UUT).

XJLink2


XJLink2 is a small, portable, USB hardware devices that provide a high speed interface (480Mbps) to the JTAG chain on a circuit board. The small, lightweight design means the XJLink2 can easily be moved to the Unit Under Test (UUT). Advanced features, like their programmable JTAG signal pin position, switchable power supply and auto signal skew, make it easy to connect to a wide range of circuit boards. Simple to install and use due to the USB plug-and-play ability

PXI XJLink2 module


The PXI XJLink2 module allows the integration of XJTAG into PXI-based test systems. PXI XJLink2 has one JTAG controller that can be connected to up to 4 JTAG chains, which are configurable for pinout and voltage. It is easily integrated with LabVIEWTM with a full set of Virtual Instruments (VIs) included.

XJLink2-CFM

XJLink2-CFM is an advanced multi-TAP JTAG controller that fits into one of four Custom Function Module (CFM) locations on a Teradyne Multi-Function Application Board. It offers convenient, integrated access to XJTAG’s powerful test and programming tools from Teradyne’s TestStation™ In-Circuit Test Systems

The XJLink2 3070, approved by Keysight Technologies, provides convenient, integrated access to XJTAG’s powerful boundary scan test and programming tools from Keysight (Agilent) i3070 ICT machines.

XJIO Boards

The XJIO Boards are expansion units that enable you to improve the test coverage for a Unit Under Test (UUT) by verifying the signals right through to the external connections. They will integrate with your XJTAG test system to provide access to otherwise inaccessible areas of your circuit. With a range of digital and analogue I/O on the XJIO boards, you can increase test coverage and improve fault diagnosis.
